"dwc:fieldNotes": "NOTEBY J. Longino, NOTEDATE 22-Aug-06: Sclerophyll forest; nest under stone; when Walter Tschinkel turned stone, we saw two chambers with larvae and pupae. Three larvae in particular were very fat, lying on their backs nest to each other. They looked like small water beds. A hole led into the soil, and very hesitantly and very timidly a giant worker of Pachycondyla began to emerge from the hole. I was able to capture only two workers. Pupae were in cocoons. The adult workers produced a defensive froth from the tip of the abdomen. It foamed out and had a strong odor.",
