Low cliffs, outcrops, and boulders of non-calcareous sandstone of Upper Pennsylvanian Stranger Formation in brushy Quercus marilandica–Quercus stellata–Quercus velutina forest on gentle to moderate W, SW, and N-facing slopes above W-trending ravine leading to lake, with understory dominated by Quercus saplings, Rhus copallina, Rubus spp. and Toxicodendron radicans, and Cephalanthus occidentalis and Cornus amomum locally common in ravine. Site evidently partially burned in recent years. Soil sandy.",
