"dcterms:description": "adult male phidippus clarus jumping spider here's a handsome little phidippus clarus male i found last summer while out bug hunting with a friend. i spotted him from quite a distance, and instantly recognized the species due to those vivid red bits on the abdomen (see the shots below in the comment section). upon photographing him and reviewing the shots i had taken - i noticed those beautiful grey metallic scales down the center of his abdomen. i apologize for the small upload size - this was a fairly significant crop. on another note - i finally got around to putting together a simple site for www.thomasshahan.com - so if you're into arthropod photography, art, and bad singing - you may want to take a look... i've recieved a few e-mails recently from folks looking to buy prints - how many of you would actually be interested in buying some nice prints of my photos or maybe even a book?",

"description": "Worldwide in scope though with a focus on the American West, the Arachnology collection at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science comprises over 50,000 specimen lots and is growing every year. The holdings include primary types and paratypes. Holdings are particularly strong in Colorado species and in Solifugae, with 13 primary types and 65 paratypes. The Colorado Spider Survey, initiated at DMNS in 1999, has vastly expanded our knowledge of the Colorado spider fauna. The collection is housed in the Avenir Collections Center - an onsite state-of-the-art museum collections facility.",
