Column of workers from nest up hill into dry shrub steppe. One worker carrying Carabidae prey. Column went to what seemed to be small satellite nest under grass clump. I found one Staphylinidae in the satellite nest, I think with the workers and possibly an inquiline. I saw small myrmicines, probably Formicoxenus, in the large mound, but I failed to catch them. I spent a long time trying to find some, but failed. I collected two additional staphylinids in mound, seeming to run unimpeded among the agitated ants. I turned up one alate queen while digging in mound. A dead nettle stalk embedded in nest contained a Solenopsis molesta nest with brood (JTL5930).",
