Este es el lago más grande del Caribe (350 km2), es un sitio RAMSAR y se incluye dentro de una reserva de la Biosfera. Las colectas se realizaron entre 2014 a 2016. Este proyecto recibió financiamiento de FONDOCYT (No. 2013-1E3-119). La creación del perfil de este conjunto de datos en el portal Consortium of Small Vertebrate Collections de Symbiota fue posible gracias a la colaboración con el Biodiversity Knowledge Integration Center (BioKIC), Arizona State University.
