The collection expanded significantly in 1960 when Dr. Adrian Wenner contributed his personal collection to enhance its diversity. Currently, the collection boasts over 40,000 arthropod specimens, predominantly insects, with a focus on those found in California. A particular emphasis is placed on the order Hymenoptera order, especially bees.
